Tips for Purchasing Rampage Bumpers

A Rampage Bumper has lot of components that a first-time buyer might find daunting. Not only do you have to purchase the right bumper, but then you have to consider accessories such as bumper lighting kits, fog lights, d-ring shackles and more. Therefore, when you are ready to purchase a Rampage Bumper for your Jeep, consider a few of these first-time buyer tips to make sure you make the right decision the first time around.

Rampage Bumpers

Rampage currently manufacturers two basic types of recovery bumpers: the stubby front and recovery bumper.

Recovery Bumper – This type of bumper provides front and rear recovery protection. Perfect for day or night use, the Rampage Recovery Bumper is specifically designed for heavy-duty off-roading and rock crawling. With ground-level dual light receptacles, you can install fog lights or heavy-duty lights without worrying about distribution. These recovery bumpers include additional features, such as:

·         No drill installation
·         The ability to mount directly to the factory-installed bumper mount
·         Custom welded shackle mounts
·         Floating bolts for quick and easy stud alignment
·         A free winch plate with custom d-ring shackles on both front and rear recovery bumpers
·         Two finishes (semi-gloss and textured)

The basic Recovery Bumper is recommended for vehicles that will be used for full-time off-roading. Since these bumpers are specifically created for heavy-duty use, Jeep owners should consider this type of recovery bumper if they plan on using their Jeep for rock crawling, scaling or even crawling through mud and water.

Stubby Front Bumper – The Stubby Front Bumper, also referred to as the Mass-Articulation Front Bumper, is a lighter version of the traditional Recovery Bumper. This bumper has a narrower design, smaller edges and is able to accommodate larger tires and expanded travel requirements. Since the mass-articulation model is designed for off-road and on-road use, it is the perfect recovery bumper for drivers who still need to take their Jeep on city streets or drive their Jeep for long distances to reach their off-roading destination. The Rampage Stubby Front Bumper does have same convenience features as the Recovery Bumper, including no drill installation, mounting directly to the factory-installed bumper mounts and custom welded shackle mounts.

Accessories

Accessories are up to the consumer. If you plan on using your Jeep for extensive off-roading, consider adding additional features such as a winch, d-ring shackle or even fog lamps for improved visibility. Those looking to off-road at all hours should consider mounting lights into their recovery bumpers for day/night visibility and safety. If, however, you are installing a recovery bumper for aesthetic appeal, consider using the features that come standard with a Stubby Front Bumper instead.
